Nokia to introduce at least one new high-end smartphone at MWC

According to Forbes, Nokia plans on introducing at least one new high-end smartphone at MWC 2012 in Barcelona, which is scheduled to open at the end of this month. While it is unknown what OS will be running on the device, one of Nokia's partners revealed that the phone will have a software feature that is usually found only on high-end models. One rumor, which we have already passed along to you, is that this new high-end model is the Nokia Lumia 910 which is basically the same model as the Nokia Lumia 900 supposedly headed for AT&T, but with a 12MP camera. Nokia has already shot down this speculation by saying that the Lumia 910 does not exist.

The Finnish based manufacturer is holding a press event on the morning of February 27th, the day that MWC 2012 opens. Usually, a company that invites the media to a separate event during a trade show, has some very big news to report such as a major product introduction. Last year, Nokia's offsite event served as a way for Nokia's new CEO, Stephen Elop, to discuss with the press his vision of Nokia's future and no device was announced. But this year Nokia has already launched its entry-level Nokia Lumia 710 and the Nokia Lumia 800. The high-end Nokia Lumia 900 is already available for pre-order via one of  Microsoft's retail store.

As for this mysterious new high-end model from Nokia, we might just have to wait until the morning of the first day of MWC to find out. And since we will be presenting live coverage of MWC 2012, as soon as we know, you will know.
